ACD - Copywriter

Atlanta, GA

Dagger is a full-service creative agency leading the way in Atlanta. Driving clients’ business outcomes with a nimble, media-company mindset, we innovate new ways to capture attention by distributing valuable content across media.

We’re a close-knit group of deeply driven, passionate, innovative thinkers, makers, and doers. We’re looking for another stellar addition to our team to help us cultivate ideas that strengthen our client offerings, win more awards, and achieve our goal of being the most compelling Atlanta-born agency the industry has ever seen.

Dagger's creative department is looking for an ACD - Copywriter who's got the vision and the craft to take big ideas and shape them into fully realized campaigns across all formats, and most importantly, who loves doing the work, selling the work, and seeing it come to life.

About you:You’re not just a writer—you’re a thinker, creator, and collaborator. You’re just as confident crafting scripts for TV as you are writing engaging post copy for social. Whether it’s 60: national tv script, a bold manifesto, or a snappy headline, you bring a high level of craft and care to everything you touch. You manage and mentor junior copywriters, provide constructive feedback, and guide projects to ensure the best creative output.

You thrive in a team environment, working closely with art directors, strategists, and project leads to turn insights into great creative. You love leading the work and enjoy every step of the process—brainstorming ideas, refining the work, presenting it, and bringing it to life. You take feedback in stride and use it to push the work further. You work closely with clients to understand their needs, present ideas confidently, and build strong relationships that lead to breakthrough work.

You’re someone who’s always pushing yourself to grow, both in your craft and your career. You’re eager to be part of a team that’s focused on not only creating great work, but also on developing more junior talent to become the best creatives, leaders, and entrepreneurs, and where every project is viewed as an opportunity to sharpen your skills, stretch your thinking, and reach your full potential.

This role is based in Atlanta, GA (we're a hybrid workplace).

How can you tell if this role is right for you?

If you’re really good at:

  • Writing at the intersection of “big conceptual thinking” and “technically proficient practitioner" - you seamlessly balance the big picture with execution.
  • Creative Leadership: You guide teams in executing cohesive campaigns, bringing creative clarity to complex projects and making decisions that drive the best outcomes.
  • You present work to clients with confidence, ensuring every concept and piece of copy aligns strategically with the brand, brief, messaging, voice, and tone.
  • Approaching your growth with positivity and an eagerness to learn, embracing feedback and always seeking opportunities to improve.
  • Writing scripts from scratch, starting with your own original concepts, and iterating / finessing based on client feedback.
  • Uncovering fresh insights that fuel bold, creative, and disruptive work.
  • Collaborating with creative team members, PMs, strategy, and leadership. You contribute to developing and delivering concepts across video, social, digital, and more.
  • Developing copy that supports the strategy and brings concepts to life, whether it’s through humor, emotion, education, inspiration, or purely entertainment.
  • Mentoring and leading more junior team members to elevate their skills and reach their full potential.
  • Trend Awareness: You stay current with industry trends and cultural movements, incorporating relevant themes nito your work to keep it fresh and engaging.
  • Accepting feedback and critique with grace, standing behind your work when needed, while also working with managers and account teams to refine and elevate ideas.
  • Remaining on schedule - hitting project milestones / deadlines, and communicating clearly along the way.
  • Presenting and passionately selling your concepts is part of your flow.
  • Juggling multiple projects and brands, delivering consistently across each one.

And you have:

  • A portfolio that doesn’t just impress—it’s a testament to your strong creative thinking, problem-solving, and undeniable passion for the craft.
  • 7-10 years of experience in an agency or similarly fast-paced, creative environment, where you’ve thrived under pressure.
  • A comprehensive background and you’ve mastered writing across huge tv opportunities, integrated brand campaigns, quick-turn social projects, and traditional mediums, consistently delivering standout work.
  • An attention to detail second to none, and your creative thinking pushes boundaries, driving results and setting your work apart from the competition.
  • Collaboration in your DNA—you work seamlessly with creatives and strategists to bring ideas to life.
  • A growth mindset and a relentless desire to produce the best work of your career, always reaching for that next level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are part of your toolkit, allowing you to articulate ideas with clarity and conviction.
  • A desire to lead, mentor, and develop more junior members of the team.
  • An excitement to be part of a team of kind, smart, driven individuals who love brainstorming, collaborating, and creating culturally relevant, impactful work they’re proud of.
